Responsible Alcohol Service Training

Business owners, managers, and staff must be trained and understand alcohol and tobacco laws, responsibilities, and liabilities before being issued a license through the state and must complete a state-approved course such as our ServSafe Responsible Alcohol class to operate or serve in any establishment.

In Wisconsin, you must complete the Wisconsin Tobacco Training Online Course in addition to the ServSafe Alcohol Online Course. To ensure compliance, please follow these steps:

• Take the Wisconsin Tobacco Online Course. For more information, click here.
• Purchase the ServSafe Alcohol Online Course and Primary Exam (SSAOLP3), which also includes a Wisconsin state supplement and Wisconsin state quiz.
• Take the ServSafe Alcohol Course, download and review the Wisconsin state supplement, and then take both the Wisconsin state quiz and the ServSafe Alcohol Primary Exam.
• Apply for an Operator’s (bartender’s) license with your local municipality. For more information, click here.
